MY FAVOURITE podcast ON MONEY
- Planet Money by NPR
Things mentioned in workshop
- Presentation Powerpoint
- Budget Template
- How the Envelope System Works
- Every Dollar (Envelope System app for your phone, more convenient than the envelope system, but not as effective).
- Debt Snowball Plan - A great way to get out of debt.
- Wealth Simple - Investing made really easy. This link is what's called a 'referral link'. Here's what happens: if you sign up and use Wealth Simple, you and I both get an extra $5000 managed for free.
Question to ask yourself before spending your hard earned money on bigger-ish items (let's say anything over $40).
Would you still buy the item if you left your wallet at home and had to drive home and drive back?
Is there a better use for your money? Remember that money is finite. Once you buy this item, it means that you can’t do something else with that money.
Have you asked someone who is good with money if this is a good purchase?
Can I borrow this from someone, get it cheaper somewhere else, or make it myself?
